Every Gigging Musician Should Read This, 19 July 2010

This review is from: Musician’s Guide to Brides: How to Make Money Playing Weddings (Paperback)

If you aspire to play for money – or you are already a gigging musician(s) – you should read this book. Even though it’s largely about doing weddings, it says a whole lot about how you should be behaving, how to get the work, what to play, how to play, and everything really about playing for money. (Of course a lot of players and band leaders won’t read it. Good – that allows the better educated players to find more work as these problem players and bands fade away though lack of gigs.)

If you are troubled about finding the work, keeping your playing profitable, and generally upping your professional performance and image – this is a book you’ll want to read. Having read it, you then have the tough job of applying the lessons. That’s what differentiates between bands banging out gigs every weekend at £1500-2000, and bands that can barely get £250 once a month. (Or worse!)

This book is the first part of the story of getting you doing well paid jobs, every week. The next part of the story is applying it.
